"I wanted to hug you, so I guess we're at an understanding," Fa replied softly. She made good on her want, too, arms coming up and over Kay and squeezing her in close. "Thank you for letting me stay... after all that." It was hard to explain exactly why she felt so on the outside, but that so much of it was a surprise to her was probably a pretty darned good starting point.
