"If you do, I'll let you," Fa replied. "I'll beg friendly acquaintance if you want it... I know it was a different time and place, after all." She took the squeeze in stride, using it as a cue to nuzzle the other woman and, after a moment, swap up positions. In a moment or two she'd squished K under her arm, not quite literally taking her under her wing, but otherwise giving her one big, gently swooping hug.
