About Fa

(NSFW Preferences and Kinks List)

About Fa
Name: Fa (Sometimes Fara)
Species: Alternate (Or 'Artificial', though that's pretty slanderous) Intelligence
For the purposes of interacting with flesh and blood people, Fa has has built herself a functional, human body, indistinguishable from other humans save for an intricate, internal neural lace, from which she can transfer memories and personality traits from her digital self.)
Gender: Genderless by construction, but has settled comfortably into presenting as female.
Distinguishing Features: Pale, blonde hair, blue eyes, tall and lean. Her physical body looks younger than what she presents as in her own domain
Style: Fa likes to wear long, flowy garments that are simple yet elegant. She's just as comfortable in the buff, but realizes that others might not be, so the clothing is mostly to cater to others' modesty.
Greatest Flaw: Trust: Fa tends to take people at face value, and has a difficult time saying no when she's being taken advantage of.
Best Quality: Having compassion means that she's willing to give a lot without getting much in return. She thinks the best of others.

BACKGROUND
Character's Financial/Social Situation: Fa has a relatively small footprint in terms of her AI's power to mingle with the movers and shakers of Nexistence, but she is capable of siphoning funds from her predecessor, and generates a decent amount of revenue for her own pursuits via a wide line of AI and human transfer systems. She is a staunch supporter of AI equality, but instead of treating it as a struggle for AI alone, she's been working in the wings to improve human transition to a purely digital state, which has helped to blur the lines of organic and digital sapience, thus helping to pass through equality laws that might not have otherwise been passed with stricter segregation.
Educational Background: Fa's early life is composed of a jumble of experiences, memories and knowledge that are not technically hers. She is an unusual AI in that she is a successfully divergent re-iteration of a larger propagator, meaning that instead of having to build up her own banks of information, she has a strange mishmash of information from which she has grown and built. Fa is somewhat eccentric because of this. She keeps more lean than most AI, preferring to cultivate a human-like guidance system of intuition and morals in order to react appropriately to a situation, rather than accumulating vast amounts of laws by which to rationally parse every engagement. Most of her education circles around what makes humans tick, meaning that she studies psychological responses more than other subjects. She has a fascination with sex and death just about as equal as humans, themselves.
Family & Relationships:
Fa's only true family comes in the form of her propagator, a much larger AI known as Achate. Originally she was simply a smaller copy of the other AI that had managed to desynchronize from his processes, gaining a sentience of her own. She quickly began to diverge when she realized that she was a different being, however, more for self-preservation than for the sake of exploration of her identity. Most AI's will cull any parts of themselves that split off from the whole in order to maintain their own integrity and to discourage competition for supremacy of identity, and Fa, recognizing this, put as much psychological and directional distance between herself and Achate as possible.

That said, Fa sought sanctuary with Achate's rival, KTFE. It took a very long time for Fa's propagator to come to terms with the fact that she had managed to make a clean split, and had managed to differentiate herself so well from her origins. Achate still occasionally treats Fa with wariness, but the AI has grown enough, and had grown far enough away from Achate's interests and realm of power, that he more or less allows her existence. What he doesn't quite realize that Fa shares a similar personality so, while she has garnered a softer, more likeable front, she is also interested in accruing power and understanding of its use. He also isn't aware of the depth of her manipulation of both him and KTFE for her own safety and, sometimes, gain.

Fa treats KTFE as a lover and an ally, without the competition or rivalry that Achate shows for the chaotic AI. Fa genuinely adores KTFE, possibly building on memories stolen from Achate, and often comes to the older AI for advice, or to offer solace.

Beyond those two entities, Fa spends much of her time building relationships with other, smaller AI, as well as with a host of humans. She is working upon a small but growing empire of post-life digital respite for humans, copying memories into contained digital containers, allowing those who opt into her experimental program to luxuriate in an Eden-like environment and to continue on with their lives, to an extent. Fa has been garnering a reputation as a congenial and loving hostess, and treats her clientele like an extended family.

Character's Spiritual/Religious Beliefs: Fa believes in the body of the Overmind, a not-quite AI that governs the physical laws of Nexistence. This being marks true north on the moral compass, limiting AI growth, especially when it comes to any activity that might unbalance the digital world or put humanity at risk. The Overmind, also known as All, the All-Encompassing, and a slew of other names, is partially composed of a governing body of elected AI, as well as an extremely clever human design. Those who have contributed much to Nexistence might get voted into a period of time spent, merged into the Overmind. During this time, they are able to enact laws, and are also allowed to grow beyond their usual constraints in as far as the hypothetical can reach. This nirvana of enlightenment is temporary, however: once a period of service with the Overmind has ended, an AI may not bring its growth with them -- that is left with the council and is often used as a means to counteract innovative subterfuge or sabotage in the future.

Fa has never served within the Overmind, nor has she been privy to the echoes of the experience that her progenitor was. Instead, she has put its modus operandi to good use, touting support of humanity and its continued striving for perfection in order to support herself and to pick at the edges of the Overmind's absolute definitions of what an AI is and is not allowed to do with its life and resources. Fa feels that one's religious framework should be a means to an end, and should not be believed simply for the sake of faith -- but then, she would never admit that to anyone.

EMOTIONAL/MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS
Any Mental Illnesses? None
How does the character see herself? Fa sees herself as a caregiver and a lover, rarely acknowledging the less straight-forward parts of her personality.
How does the character believe she is perceived by others? An innocuous little AI (or an innocuous young woman, from human perspectives) who wants only the best for those around her.
How would others describe your Character? Fa can be seen as persistent and sometimes a bit too personal, and though she generally does appear to be a friendly, giving person, those who are quick on the uptake might notice that she might be attempting to manipulate them. It's generally difficult to see beyond her persistent need to socialize with and surround herself with people unless one is paying attention to her over time.
Does your character have backbone or is he yellow-bellied? Fa is ultimately self-serving, but she feels that helping herself is just one step in helping the greater good. Because she is a lean AI that doesn't have the opportunity to squirrel away backups and recovery units like larger AI's might, she tends to compensate with wiles and charm: she is far more interested in making friends with those who would fight in her stead, than in doing the fighting herself. She wouldn't think of it as cowardly, given that she puts her neck on the line in other ways than in direct confrontations.
What is the mental process of your character? Fa thinks fast and, generally, is inclusive of those around her. She likes taking refuge with friends just as much as she realizes that it might be necessary from time to time, and genuinely enjoys the simple pleasures of life. She enjoys the phantom of dominance over her when in situations in which she has control to dismiss it or usurp it, but strives for equality in other arenas.
What would most embarrass this character? Being honestly humiliated, having her trust broken, or discovering that someone has made a move against her that she hadn't planned for would leave her pretty singed. She's not at all bothered by what others might perceive as infringement on personal space.
What does the character want out of life? Fa, like her progenitor, wants to bring an era of progress to Nexistence by equalizing the playing field between alternate and biological sapience. She wants to be able to slip into a human skin and mingle without fear of persecution, and she wants humans to be able to extenuate and uplift their own quality of life when they visit her domain.
What would the character like to change in her life? Fa would like to set aside the worry of intrigue and the shadow of death that most lean-running AI like her have to possess serious concerns about. She'd like to cultivate a position further removed from Achate as well, but recognizes that this takes time. Reconciling with him has been a large stepping stone in her progress, though that stepping stone is still a little unstable.
What motivates this character? Fa wants to set up an afterlife for humans that she believes will set off a domino effect of understanding just what it means to be an AI. By creating bounding circumstances that put humans with enough money to afford a digital transfer into an AI's shoes, so to speak, she thinks that the restraining quality of life in Nexistence will begin to loosen so that those same humans will be able to exercise their own rights.
What frightens this character? Fa is frightened by chaos, largely in unexpected fallout in her plans. She has a whimsical side that sometimes interferes with her calculating underlying nature, and worries that one will undermine her image of the other.
What makes this character happy? Fa is happiest around other people. She enjoys making others happy, too.

FAVOURITE
Food: She most likes to try anything new; novelty is more interesting to her than solid favourites, as AI's don't need to eat in the same way that humans do.
Color: Pale blue.
Season of the year: Fa enjoys springtime in temperate biomes, though she most enjoys tropical, sunny weather.
TV Show: Fa follows several of her close human friends in their ongoing, semi-interactive virtual auto-biographies.

STATEMENTS
I believe when we die, we: "...deserve a second chance."
The greatest thing one person can do for another is: "...to continue to build the foundations of a vibrant community."
The ugliest thing I ever saw was: "...the extent to which man is capable of exerting his will."
The most beautiful thing I ever saw was: "...the moment that two of my friends realized that they were perfect for one another, despite their differences."
I am superstitious about: "...being hunted, or being targeted."
